Parents Friends of Stanbury School (FOSS)

FOSS (Friends Of Stanbury School) was set up in 1996 to provide a focal point for parents of the children at Stanbury Village School, other relatives, teachers and members of the local community to organise fund-raising events for much-needed additional funds for the school - and to have a bit of fun doing so. These extra funds make a valuable contribution to the school's budget, buying equipment and services, making contributions to the cost of school trips and so on. The improvement in the school's facilities, educational activities and the children's quality of life at the school is there for all to see.

We meet once every half term, usually on a Thursday evening, to review past activities, plan future events, and to discuss how best to spend the funds we raise. The meetings are run by the FOSS committee, but everyone who is a 'friend' of Stanbury Village School (and therefore a member of FOSS) is welcome to come along to these meetings and join in the fun. We meet in one of the local pubs too, so you can even enjoy some light refreshment while we meet.

The next meeting is on Thursday 25th May at 7.30 pm in The Wuthering Heights in Stanbury.  Do come along and get involved. Many hands make light work, and every penny of what we raise goes towards improving our children's school experience.  If you can't come along but still wish to get involved, contact George Bingham, Chair of FOSS, at george.bingham@btconnect.com.
